Larry helps Carmella play the drums in their home in Whitestown, Indiana. Carmella was born with a chromosomal disorder that limits her mobility and health.

Larry's girlfriend and Carmella's grandmother Shannon Mulcahy is preparing for the loss of her job in June and worries she will not be able to pay the mortgage for her home where she lives with her granddaughter Carmella, her son Bub and her boyfriend Larry.

Mulcahy, a steelworker, will travel back and forth to Mexico as her employer Rexnord Bearings moves its operations to the country. Mulcahy will train her replacements.
