Meghan Raven poses for a portrait in her home. She and her husband Zach Raven built their home in Belmont about a year ago without knowledge of toxic leather scraps, the relics of a Hush Puppies shoe factory, buried for decades in the soil. New test results show that waterproofing chemicals in those scraps have tainted the area’s drinking water. She said she worries about how the pollutants may affect her young children.
