Shannon Mulcahy puts on makeup before attending a scholarship night for her daughter Nicole who plans to attend Purdue University in the fall.

Mulcahy is preparing for the loss of her job in June and worries she will not be able to pay the mortgage for her home where she lives with her granddaughter Carmella, her son Bub and her boyfriend Larry.

Mulcahy, a steelworker, will travel back and forth to Mexico as her employer Rexnord Bearings moves its operations to the country. Mulcahy will train her replacements.
