Robby Lamas, who works at the GM Powertrain Bay City Plant, walks back to his car after dinner with his girlfriend Alyssa Scharich and friend Eric Schmidt. Lamas considers himself fortunate to have landed a job at the GM plant. Schmidt and Scharich are both currently unemployed.

In the 2016 election, the long Democratic-leaning and union-supporting Bay County voted to elected Donald Trump.
