A young boy -- whose mother Rosemary Bryant asked that he not be identified -- plays in the lot behind his family's home on Chicago's west side on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015. Bryant -- who said she hears gun shots and sirens in the neighborhood daily -- allows her son to play behind their home only if an adult is present.
